Delta: "NOW what? ask the guy inside if we can use his phone?" Bernice: "Wait! I just remembered-cmon!" Bernice: "I stuck a spare key under here- ah-ha! Found it!!" Delta: "Bernice, you are one smart, capable- gunky mess."
Job interview failed: anyone with fractional brainpower would have used the store phone to call the police to open the car. This is a fairly common occurrence and store owners deal with this all the time.
But that would be sensible, which would mean a short and uninteresting story line.
Kind of like life itself.
