UGH!

I think Bern’s ahead. Keys locked in her car—ugh. Got oily retrieving spare key—ugh. Got a speeding ticket—ugh. Late for interview—ugh. Miss Phelps is her interviewer—ugh. She didn’t get the internship—ugh. That’s twice as many ughs.

The road trip took a week?

Everybody’s been saying ugh, but did anyone say ugh, yet? I don’t think so… so I’ll say ugh….

Oh, yeah, this probably answers the question of whether or not it was rude to not take Lu, as she shows that she had no problem with it… these things happen…

But Bernice’s drama is over and Luann’s just starting and will last through part/most of the summer.

Oh come on Luann, you and Quill will be romancing up a storm in the time you do have, and poor Tiffany will be largely ignored by the man she loves most of the camp. Don’t ruin what you’ve got worrying about Tiffany! P.S. I’m glad you and Quill are together after all. He wouldn’t be good for Tiff.

Dunno, but if this were to count as an audition for drama camp, I think Luann would be a shoo-in….

Why doesn’t Luann try to get a JOB at the camp?

Luann must find a way to get into camp or Tiff is going to TRY to get Quill into her mitts…my question is WHY does Tiff want Quill in the first place? Is it just because he is good looking , or it’s jealousy because of Luann…

I don’t understand, usually as long as you can pay you get into these summer camps. What kind of criteria did they use to eliminate potential campers? Were there so many applicants that they had to cut people?

I’m glad Luann isn’t panicking about Tiff being with Quill at camp (unless she doesn’t know the plan Tiff has). But don’t stop trusting Quill, Luann.

So, Luann, what are you going to do about it?

With friends like Bernice, who needs Tiff. What a lead in “Even without you our road trip was a disaster…” Luann, find some new friends that actually care about you.

Ugh. Luann will always win the ugh game because she over ughs everything. Great story btw.

Tiff only ‘loves’ Quill, because she can’t have them. Maybe Quill will find out that Tiff had something to do with Luann not getting in and she gets kicked out.

Would Quill desire an available women or would he like a vital active women? Luann should line up community theatre roles and try outs for the summer (or even now) and BUILD her sketchy credentials. Then Quill will take every weekend leave to come see HER and be a part of it all.

It’s just Bernice being Bernice. She’s the rain on everyone’s parade.

Both girls had their summer plans ruined, which is doubly unfortunate since it’s the first time either one has planned anything other than sitting in Luann’s room complaining about how boring the summer is.

Do you think Tiffany had something to do with Luann not getting into camp? and Quill getting information on a camp here in the states?

@sweetg1- Well, you may be right about Quill being a potential good influence if he cared to be. I’ve usually thought of Quill as a pretty good guy. It’s just I want him to be practically a Saint if Tiffany is going to be enamoured of him, ha ha:) I may defend Tiff a lot, but I know she’s the bad girl in the story. I’d love to see her get her act together and make peace with Luann before the end of this strip (hopefully in the far off future). In the meantime, may the best (bad) girl win!

Crystal is Tiffany’s version of Bernice. You wouldn’t want to see Bernice changing sides, would you?

Summer is the time for drama——who knows—-maybe they will bring Aaron Hill back! He left but his name still comes up…..now that would put an interesting spin on things!!

Honestly, Luann would have to be dead not to respond like this… or old and lifeless.

Tiffany has had her hooks out for Quill since the very beginning. It was Tiff who lost Quill to Luann. She is just trying to get him back.

The Ben thing was not Luann’s fault. He showed interest first, and Luann did not know he was neglecting Bernice until she talked about things she assumed, perfectly fairly, that he would have told her.

Luann should probably remind Quill, since he seems to only partially understand it, that she has a long standing jealousy of Tiffany, and that Tiffany will do just about anything to keep it that way.

True, true. It was only shortly after getting introduced to Luann that Quill asked her for help on his report on “American Libraries”.(8/06/2009)

If Tiffany ever “had” Quill, it was only until he saw Luann.

Don’t feel bad, Luann. I won a Tony and I still couldn’t get into that drama camp.

Quill and Lu’s relationship is only in the young stage… they haven’t faced a mountain of many issues, except for the daunting “long distance challenge” (which is a fair challenge)… but in the young stages of love, especially the teen kind, its mostly about the enjoyment of company, and “some bragging rights”, and a physical attraction, sometimes intellectual/emotional attraction, along with mutual or compatible interests… but the “Camp Drama” situation will test this “love”, can show if such “love” is affected/unaffected by external factors (Tiff or anybody else, or even the threats of jealousy or insecurity, or possibly something else) and could also show everybody’s character, whether for good or bad…

I still want to know what Luann is going to do about it. She is NOT going to take this lying down. My vote is she applies to the “tech” program of the camp. It would mean she and Quill will not be attending many of the same classes and workshops, but she still would be in the same camp at the same time.

Karen and Greg Evans could easily get a summer’s worth of story arcs out of that scenario.

Bernice, you were so much better in the old days…

Why do people assume Tiffany made it into camp?

I would be just dandy with seeing Aaron and Diane get back together. We might have to wait until after graduation for the age difference to properly disappear, since Diane has probably gotten even older as Brad has, while Aaron would have stayed 16, like Luann.

He did act uninterested from what we saw in the arc but this year, Tiff did say she would attempt to lure him with “romance” …. Throwing herself didn’t work, the poolside version of throwing herself didn’t seem to work, but she hasn’t tried “moonlight” and “mushy stuff” yet…. it would be sneaky for her to “open up” and “be herself”, without the insecurities, the “slow charm” to “get his guard down”, if possible…. or if not her, per se, some other girl could come along… even if he is faithful, the question is would Luann relent to pressure and let her jealousy go overboard, or show that she’s maturing in this respect? This is what COULD happen (sometimes) with young love… -To use a sports metaphor here in a limited way, what happened then, could be likened to a regular season game… this time, it could be the playoffs… where someone tries to “up the stakes”… where someone’s gameplan comes out as effective, but in the end, it’s who wants it the most…. -But truthfully, of course, real love really ISN’T a game… that’s where the difference will be with “:Lu and Crew” here… THAT’S who the real winners in this will be…

Or to use what Live2read said, they’ve had “pop quizzes” before, but there’s still the “unit test”, the “semesters”, the “finals”….-Things in life can be random, or because of our or someone else’s imperfection, but it’s how we deal with it… love, hardships, economic and health matters, etc….

Y’know? Now that I think of it, some have said that between the driving to the airport and the return after, we didn’t see all the stuff that happened… Quill did show himself uninterested… but he has shown that he’s used to “having the ladies give him an eyeover…” And Tiff makes it easy (relatively speaking) to go uggh (heh-word of the day…) when she gets on with her, her, her…. -That being said, from a writing/story standpoint, there have been tv shows and movies and books (Pride and Predjudice, etc.) where at one time or another, a plot device could have the “true blue” character have a “moment of weakness” or due to a frustration between the main “love characters”and somehow hurt their true love, and maybe later, to reconcile in the end, with the big payoff down the road, taking us on the roller coaster ride with them…. it’s not always, but it does happen… we’ll see…
