Some readers have been so convinced that Maria is Little Rita, it was time to shake that up. Her forelock is already more like Carolina. But ultimately, she’ll grow up to be Maria.

So cute! I love the appearance of the an older Maria!

The concept of the halo has changed over the centuries. I believe at one time it was a kind of glow surrounding the entire figure. With time it became focused on the head, and painters highlighted it with ornate outlines and details. From there it somehow transformed into the little floating hoop we think of today.

O_O I hope this doesn’t mean Maria passes away at an early age…..

Hold on a sec. We only see the “angel” here, as played by Carolina. The big reveal tomorrow is that the “devil” is Rita, isn’t it?

then again, how many of us would have recognized our grown up counterparts had they shown up at a critical juncture in our childhood? I like it….
