I wasn’t keen on doing the reports, although English was one of my best subjects. Ultimately the reports seem to me as subjective as a review is.-—————————————Still, it’s a useful assignment, so far as teaching analytical thinking- which is in short supply these days. But reading the books was more fun than writing the reports.-——————————————- I sometimes wonder if that’s part of why many people don’t enjoy reading as adults. Can it be they still can’t separate opening a book from the idea that they’re being ‘made to,’ and judged for it?
