I like the shadows in Panel 3, it’s a very interesting touch.
Alan’s reaction is great too!! There is NO SUCH thing as just SOME radiation. I’m right there with ya on that Alan.
It looks like Annie will be blessed with having two mothering figures in her life. :)
Side note about the worst: It depends on her cancer and the type of THAT cancer. My mom had kidney cancer and they had a chemo for kidney cancer but not THAT type of it (There were five known then and only two had successful chemo for them. The stuff is harder to detect in women than men and hard even then.) The word you do not want to see in the strip is metastasis. Up to that point, there is real hope. Once it starts moving, my old Doc said she just took her Mom on a cruise to use the money in a way that would do her as much good.
Three experiences I’ve had: 1) Placing a Geiger counter against a brick wall and measuring the natural radiation. 2) Discovering that one of the buildings in my condo complex has a ventilation system for the radon. 3) Standing before a large cloud chamber in a science museum and actually seeing the unbelievable amount of cosmic radiation that constantly penetrates everything.
Conclusion: There is no such thing as NO radiation, just more or less radiation.
