oh, so Lila is the pillar of convention now? As in: just buy the expensive stuff if you like it and put it away in your shoe-closet, because it’ll NEVER be suitable and you’d be ridiculed for wearing the stuff to the bars n’ clubs …. puleeeeeeeeze it’s 2014 not 1954…go in white shoes if you want to, even if you’re not Roger Federer. But ok, it’s reruns and the rut is too deep by now to look beyond.
This is ceasing to be fun. There are people who don’t have shoes, or food. Laughing at a moron has limited appeal. And, it is starting to feel like ridiculing someone for being handicapped.
DLee4144: Most people without shoes are in regions that don’t need them, and are indeed a detriment (hot, humid environment inside the shoe for mold to flourish) and an expense not helpful. Under those conditions, shoes are moronic. I have a colleague who cannot wear shoes without severe pain. He is in constant battle with stores and public places offended by his “hippie” refusal to wear shoes. Yet he writes history and natural history articles on state parks where he has permission to “bushwhack” off the trails..I will agree, however, food is another matter entirely.

Here in LA that rule doesn’t apply due to the continuing summer weather. A better time to change would be mid-October, say, Columbus Day.

Just like that Simpsons episode where Homer had to wear a pink shirt to work: “I’m not popular enough to be different!”
