Adopting a new daughter works wonders. There is a young lady that we befriended about 8 years ago. She calls me mamma and my husband “My Bob” lest anyone think that he isn’t hers! Her own mother disapproves of everything she says and does and even “unfriended” her on Facebook over the last Presidential election. Her drug addicted sister and jailbird brother can do no wrong in her mother’s book though. She and her husband and kids (she has legal custody of her sister’s two oldest kids and he has two kids from a previous marriage) are such a joy! The older girl calls my husband “GrandBob”. His own children only call us when they want money, otherwise they don’t want anything to do with us so it is a real blessing to have unconditional love.
