I learned to hate electric fences the day i was painting a wood fence that was right tight to the electric fence. i lost track of how many times i got shocked.
I didn’t take up drawing until after college but I carried a sketchpad literally everywhere and got pretty good. My youngest brother used to draw parodies of the Pogo comic strip when he was very small. My mother discouraged him; she told him it was plagiarism. As far as I know, he never drew again. Please encourage the young. (Lovely horse, by the way)
