I was at a restaurant with my wife, her mom, her son and his family, including the grandson who was, IIRC, four or five at the time. And you know little kids: They get really cranky when they want to eat and there’s no food. So we’re waiting…and waiting…and waiting for our dinner. When it finally comes out of the kitchen — very late — the waitress tries to hotdog the tray, with all of our dinners on it, holding it over her shoulder with one hand. The load shifted and she dumped the entire contents into the laps of the table behind us. They got their dinners comped. We got to wait for another overly long time while they remade all our dinners; we were offered free dessert, which no one wanted that late at night. I don’t think anyone in my family has been back to that restaurant since; I know my wife and I haven’t.
