I’m just wondering who’s idea it was and if it was a dare.

First thing the vet should ask Grimmy:

“What’s the matter? Cat got your tongue?”

Cats are cold-hearted creatures and Grim was triple dog dared.

This also happened in an older arc of strips, where Grimm was pretending to be a chameleon.
