can’t hold a candle to the diet

Back in the late 60s my grandma had a bowl of wax fruit on her coffee table as well as a thing that looked like a bunch of decorative glass concord grapes. The grapes got put away after I (who was around four or five years old) tried to eat a couple of them. Good times.

Is Ralph trying to wax poetic ?

Wonder how many tons of Carnaba wax we consume in a life time from eating apples and other waxed fruits?

It’s snacks for visiting waxwings. Songbirds love fruits.
