Reminds me of a story concerning Dean Martin and Steve Lawrence and Eydie Gorme. Dean would always refer to the pair of singers as Steve and Eydie, greeting them as a duo. Well one night Dean was dining in a restaurant and in walked Steve Lawrence by himself. Seeing Lawrence, Dean said——Hey Steve and Eydie, where is Eydie?

I suppose that you could blame it on the bossa nova.Made famous by Eydie Gorme.
I always wonder if she was a gourmet or what. Beautiful Lady.
Blame it on the Old Sarge

My husband once referred to us as “Mutt and Jeff”—-he called me Mutt. He never said it again after I reminded him that MUTT was the tall one!
