Brilliant, Jeff! Mutt’s friend is like in Hamlet " For ’tis the sport to have the enginerHoist with his own petard"!I wonder if Mutt was in cahoots drumming up customers for Jeff?
Now who’s the dummy. I remember years ago the game show Truth or Consequences. One day they had a woman on and they arranged for her 3 year son to be able to keep all of the money they had pinned to a tree or the coins laying at its base, all that he could pick up in a 3 minute span. The woman was not allowed to speak to her son, but the host, Bob Barker, kept saying things to the kid like look at those nice shiney pennies. Isn’t that what you want?
There’s a song that tells a story very much like this one and I think it’s based on truth. About an elderly Black man whom most people thought was crazy because people were always offering him the choice between a dollar and a quarter, and he would always take the quarter. But the song shows he really wasn’t as crazy as they thought because the man said if he ever took the dollar people would stop giving him money!
