Probably left there by birds. Someplace high in the mountains of Vancouver Island someone one day will find a complete fishing lure use to troll for salmon, a 18 inch flasher and a 4 ounce lead weight. An eagle took a grilse (one year old salmon) while I was reeling it in.. some 30 yards behind the boat. Rather than have a mad eagle in our boat we cut the line and..flasher dangling in the sun.. the eagle flew off with its dinner. A once in a lifetime experience…
