I remember someone I met in college who had been a short order cook. In the mornings, for breakfast, he’d tell the cook “Adam and Eve on a raft, and make ’em swim!” (two eggs on toast, with gravy). Coffee was “bean juice” and various other terms were used. It was a real education hearing him order! :D
