VistaBillā¦..When I was in the first grade, (some things stick in the mind) in tthe mid 30s, there was a popular song named āFlaf Foot Floosie with a Floy Floy. My given name is Floyd, and I took an oral beating because of that song, I was constantly teased with āFlat Foot Floosie with a Floyd Floyd!
Good night, my friends. See you on the rebound this PM.
VistaBill, try this one!
Moe and Joe had a candy store.
Tellinā fortunes behind the door.
Cops ran in and Joe ran out,
Brother Moses began to shout,
Run Joe, run as fast as you can.
Run Joe, the policeman catch you if he can
Joe, you better run!!!
Captain Kangaroo had a lot of the old songs like āFlaf Foot Floosie and a Floy Floy.
A lot of show and movie tunes like āShow Boatā tunes.
Great program for kids.
dkramā¦ā¦ā¦..That song, F.F,F, with a F.F..is the only song in my life that I really hated, and I do not remember ever hearing it. Probably because it made my life miserable for a while.
That was 1936 or ā37, I can still go straight to wjere I lived and where the school was, or still is. Havenāt been there in more than 70 years, either..
Thanks for all your good wishes, my friends. Iām feeling better today. They are doing a lot of controled burns up here this week, and the resulting smoke causes allergies to flare up.
Leaky, Iām sending my $1.98 in right now!
Sorry people teased you, Slim. Kids are like that, unfortunately.
Margueritemā¦ā¦ā¦ā¦Glad youāre back. Just isnāt the same place wikthout your presence.
I know how kids can be. Iāve taken care of them, baby-sat i guess one would say, from infants to early teens.. I baby-sat two generations of family kids, none of whom were mine, and a few non-family kids, too.
I would venture to say I have changed more diapers than the average father! I still like the youngsters, but I donāt want to babysit any of them these days!!! :-))
Iāve been a bit under the weather myself. Somewhere I picked up strep throat, and while I donāt feel all that sick, it is a challenge to eat or drink anything around those knives stuck in my tonsils. Thank God for antibiotics - Iām on the mend. The knives are only little ones now.
Montana Lady, I managed to get a DVD copy of āSong of the Southā a few years back. It shipped from Singapore, so I suppose it is a bootleg - especially since Disney refuses to release it. Wonderful movie. Typical Disney moral to the film with all the requisite tear-jerking and great music. I checked ebay, and while there are several VHS copies offered, thereās no DVD. In fact when I did a search of SotS DVD, several entries came up saying āNever on DVDā. Iāll have to go check, but I think that round, flat thing with a hole in the middle is a DVDā¦.
Slim, I did a lot of baby-sitting when I was a teenager. I didnāt start to feel āmatureā until the babies I sat started getting married and having kids of their own.
