@Shirttail Slim:Interesting about John Wayne living at your apt. building in past years (your post late yesterday). There is a twin-tower co-op over in St. Pete, on the west coast of Fla., where back in the early 30s Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig maintained penthouses as Yankee’s spring training was nearby.
Morning folks..Well as I said yesterday, my Jeep is in the shop, AC froze, I’m going to skip the AC and use 4 by 60 AC instead. (see yesterdays comments). So Slim, John Wayne lived there, at the begining, at the end of his Career, or middle maybe?.The Bambino, and the Iron Horse, two of the Yankees best known players, talk about histery.I’ve been to the Base Ball hall of Fame, and saw Ruth’s Locker as well as other Base Ball artifacts from BB’s histery. That same summer, and the same trip, we also went to Canton OH to see the Foot Ball Hall of fame, that was a great vacation..Guess I’ll leave now, later..ttfn
We’ve been going through the 1930’s John Wayne movies. He was soooooooooooo slim then, that he reminded me of a tall Roy Rogers!
Also fun to watch because a lot of them were filmed in Chatsworth, just up the road from where we lived for 30 years in the San Fernando Valley. Of course, by the time we moved there, all of John Wayne’s movies were filmed at the real locations, but, it’s fun to recognize the locations.
We have a wall in our “theater” with our shots of different filming locations for tons of movies. Most prominent is the Monument Valley shots for a lot of JW movies. Others are of Vazquez Rocks where they filmed a lot of Star Trek episodes.
Darn it, I forgot to submit my usual Morning greeting, but…….. It is still morning, so instrad of “I will”, I’ll say “I did”.>>>>>>Woo Hoo! Seven hours last night. I slept like the lion, just not in the mighty jungle. :-))
Vagabonds: I have a small favor to ask. One of the organizations I am supporting is the Feline Conservation Center at the Exotic Feline Breeding Compound in Rosamond, CA. They, in cooperation with other such centers around the world, breed the big cats in order to preserve them from extinction. We have been proudly “sponsoring” one of their cats (a black South American Jaguar named Doc) for about 8 years now. That is we pay an annual amount that covers the cost of his care and upkeep.
The favor? If you ever buy anything from Amazon, go to EFBC’s website “www.cathouse-fcc.org” first. They have a link on their home page to Amazon (on the page it’s on the far right under the heading “shopping”). If you use that link, then Amazon will donate a small percentage of the price of anything you buy to EFBC. Thank you in advance to any of you that may choose to help keep these cats happy, healthy and not extinct. (And while you are there, look up the photos of my boy Doc.)

Good morning Vagabonds. All is well here in Nevada. Hot, but good. All the way up to 20% humidity!
As I was maneuvering to ByE today, I noticed that there are 500 subscribers to this strip. I wonder if they are lurking….
