Yesterday’s movie “Woodlawn” was pretty good. It is about the first integrated football team in Birmingham, Alabama (named as the most segregated city in the US in the 60’s) and the running back Tony Nathan (who went on to play for Bear Bryant (played by John Voight, of all people.) at Alabama and for the Miami Dolphins). The whole thing is Christian based, and it really was a miraculous true story. I expected to see some racial nastiness, but it was kept to a minimum – mostly implied rather than overt. For that I was grateful. I recommend it if you get a chance to see it.
Today will be a quiet day. The wind has finally died down (we had gusts up to 50 mph which I know isn’t hurricane force, but it is strong for us) and the temp is already 55. We’re headed up to 71, and it will be a good day for a walk in the park.
Good morning, Vagabonds.
