Droopy the dead pan dog, one of my favorite cartoon critters.
Cloudy, 58 degrees, what else can I say. The clouds will slowly part and it will be partly cloudy this afternoon, possible wandering showers, high 70. Eh, what can I say. (^.^)
Our hansom young gentleman (Ghost) can be a bit of a obstacle when I’m trying to get his and the pretty girl’s (Patches) breakfast going, man that critter gets under foot, set his food down, clear sailing. Love ‘em both. Patches is a high flyer, particularly when Ghost is close at hand. She’ll come out of my sister’s room and if the G-man is there it’s up on the arm of the glider rocker then it’s high in the air, 4 to 5 feet high, to the arm of the sofa then a dash to the kitchen. Makes my head spin sometimes. Oh, BTW my avatar is a picture of my Patchypoo.
Keep kool kats, have a great day and, may God bless.
I’m off to a women’s bible study this morning. I’ve been wanting to get into it, but this is the first time in months that I have actually remembered to be ready to leave the house on time. We are studying the women of the bible.
Yesterday I took a load of stuff to Salvation Army. It’s remarkable how much more space there is in that room now… Then I went to Walmart for another indoor walk and a bit of grocery shopping.
Not much else happening today though I will probably find another Walmart for an indoor walk. There are 4 of them within easy driving distance from me, plus a “neighborhood market”.
It got up to 105 on the patio yesterday. Today’s forecast is for 106.
well, my yearly dermatology checkup didn’t turn out so well. of the 2 biopsies they did, 1 was normal, and the other turns out to be a basal cell carcinoma. so, on October 12th, i get to undergo a 3 hour surgery to remove several layers of skin. oh goody.
Oh yah, it be foggy around her, valley, what valley? We get started with 49 degrees and fog. The forecast says a high of 80 and partly cloudy.
That forecast is good for the “Ten Best Days of Summer” more commonly known as The Champlain Valley Fair. That fair is in Essex Junction, VT just this side of Burlington. I won’t be going, can’t afford such things, maybe I’ll make the Orleans County Fair. (^.^)
Keep on keeping on Vagabonds, may God hold you up when you can no longer stand.
We finally finished the book of Revelation this morning. And it was perfectly fitting that we ended on a communion Sunday. Next week we will start over with Matthew 1:1. (The old testament is covered on Wednesday nights.)
We have a stench in our bedroom that started yesterday. It’s either a dead critter brought in by a cat or a sewer leak. The latter is unlikely given the location of the worst of the smell, but you never know. I guess you know which one I am rooting for – the messy freebie or the jackhammering of my foundation slab.
I’m making a pork chop stew this afternoon. It’s an easy one, the hardest thing is cutting up the potatoes. It’s nice because I make enough for two meals for us.
Our forecast today is 103 and we’re sitting at 100 right now. It wouldn’t be so bad if I didn’t have to leave the patio door wide open in the bedroom to air out that stench.
Quick update. We pulled the bed out and found a big dead bird underneath. It had probably been there for days. Definitely the source of the smell. I’m on my way to the market for a carpet deodorizer. P-U! I’m also going to rethink allowing the cats outside. I’m tired of dead birds and live lizards.
A quiet weekend for me. I was still pretty tired from Friday’s trip to Springfield so we just rested on Saturday. And today we were off to church. It was a good Bible study followed by good music and sermon.
We had a couple of hours of much needed rain this afternoon. The temperatures remained in the 80’s and so did the humidity.
