I watched the Rose Parade on the local NBC station this morning. Unlike the channel that I have watched for years, it was interrupted by a LOT of commercials. With all the new streaming services, my go-to channel (KTLA 5 out of LA) let me see the first 5 minutes on YouTube, then put up a big blocking panel and basically said “if you want to see the rest, you’ll have to pay for it”. I haven’t missed a Rose Parade since I was a teenager, even when we were in the RV.
We got the rest of the decorations down yesterday, inventoried and stowed. (You ought to see my inventory list!) Mike was here and helped us put the three parts of the tree up on that high shelf that we call the “forest”. Unfortunately, we can’t get high enough to cover them with a tarp, so maybe next year we’ll hit them with the leaf blower to get rid of the dust before we put it up. And yes, even with that careful inventory list, I still missed one decoration. Mike found it. And my dubious record is still intact.
I made pork noodle soup last night which is why Mike was here. He’s a sucker for it. Well, to be fair, so am I.
I don’t plan on doing anything else in particular today. A lot of maybes, but no real plan. (yet)
We have a bright sunshiny day with an expected high of 57. Considering it’s only 51 at noon, I doubt we’ll make it.
Everyone have a blessed day and again, happy new year.
