The pool and spa are finally finished and opened to the public as of yesterday around noon. Hallelujah! At least that crisis is over.
Yesterday seemed to be Hawaiian day at both my church and Mike’s. I ran into him on the way out and he was wearing the loudest Hawaiian print I’ve ever seen. Then I got to church and the pastor and his wife were wearing matching Hawaiian prints and about half of the congregation was also in Hawaiian shirts or dresses. I feel like I got left out of the loop.
Yesterday was also Donut Sunday. Of course our favorite donut shop took their annual month-long vacation in June instead of July, so the pastor’s wife made cinnamon rolls. She is an excellent chef and baker (used to run a catering company) and makes treats for us fairly often. Any old pot-luck for an excuse. We appreciate it. Our usual coordinator for Donut Sunday is taking HER annual months-long vacation to Oregon starting tomorrow, so next month I get to do it all by myself. It’s okay. The biggest chores are picking up the donuts (pastor will do that) and sweeping up the mess afterward and we have a helper for that.
It’s another beautiful day in the neighborhood. Blue skies and sunshine and an expected high of 99. (Heavy sigh)
