Foggy and 66 degrees. Mixed clouds and sun this morning, scattered T-storms this afternoon. The T-storms are supposed to clear up by the time the pyrotecnics start.
I may or may not take in a fireworks show tonight or I might watch “A Capital Forth” I’ll see what the evening brings.
Y’all have a Capital Forth Vagabonds, may God keep us all free.
Good morning Vagabonds and Happy Independence Day.
Mike is coming over this afternoon and we’re planning an old fashioned cookout – hot dogs, corn, potato salad and strawberry shortcake. I doubt we’ll eat it on the patio, though. Too dang HOT.
Our annual summer battle with lizards in the house is in full swing. Sting brings them in and Michael puts them out again. Only 2 yesterday, but we’ve had as many as 4 or 5 in one day. Sting does love his “moving toys”.
The cats are usually allowed outside during the day. Today we’re going to confine them once they’ve come in from their morning jaunt. We won’t allow them out this evening because of the fireworks. I don’t think they would get hurt, but they might get scared away from home. Better not to take a chance.
Officially yesterday got up to 109. On my patio it was 114 and according to the car’s thermometer it was 121 in the doctor’s parking lot. I suspect it was reading a bit high… Today’s forecast is again 106, but unlike yesterday which was already over 100 at this time (8:30 AM), today it’s “only” 95.
We had our fireworks show Saturday night. And the outdoor BBQ on Saturday as well. Today we’re just relaxing, and fixing home-made pizza. And the Astros beat the Rangers 3 out of 4.
I am still around. I have changed my daily schedule and everything is topsy turvy. I have even had days when I have forgotten to read the comics, but I am slowly getting accustomed to it. I have had to go to making a list of everything I need to do just to fully remember it all. Habits are hard to change!!
The family was here by 1:30 this afternoon. We grilled hamburger sliders and hot dog with all the trimmings. That allowed all the younger family to go spend time at the fireworks with friends. Sidney and I will be on the couch watching PBS in the air-conditioning.
