I used to attend the SanDiego comicon yearly. I’m sorry that I will miss y ou. I really like Myth Tickle. I am too old to travel any more. Love your work.Blessed Be.
Oh, dear! Clubs, Diamonds, and Hearts roasting by an allergic baby dragon! Where were Spades? Is this the Mythticular explanation why we play with aces, kings, queens, and jacks rather than “knights”?
He was cute little Dragon. To the query about knights in the deck of cards, the tarot deck had knights as part of it., I have no idea as to why they were removed..\\//_
Makes you wonder if dragons got a bad rap, that their propensity to blowtorch guys with big iron toothpicks arose not from any sense of hostility but because of histamines.
I love MythTickle. It is so rich in detail and “bits of business” that I find new things every time I look at it. The second time around is as much fun, maybe even more, as the first time. They were stormy knights; now they are dark knights. The lone knight saying “ow” (not “OW!!” but just “ow”) is classic comedy.
@ SisyphosThe original name for the Jack was “Knave” not Knight. An archaic word for scoundrel. Why they chose that when making the playing deck out of the Tarot deck I’ll never know.
No, he didn’t have the power. He tried to use it to escape and failed, epically (pun intended). Remember when he tried to melt through his chain and only tempered it further?
Apparently Boody is only a formidable flamethrower when he’s allergic to something. Which begs the question of what happened to his knight allergies (pun, pun, pun) as he grew older. I think Justin’s explained that somewhere, somewhen.Dragon and tiger… boy, did the Chinese get those archetypes switched.
Suits represent the class system, spades for aristocracy, hearts for religious, diamonds for merchants, and clubs for peasants. Spades are missing because they sent the rest to do their dirty work.

There is a reason for no spades, but I won’t go there. Lets just say this strip is not politically correct.
