Actually, historically, most revolutions go to several extremes before finding a middle point. Look at France, Russia, Iran, even what’s happening in the “Arab Srping”. Or the late Roman Republic. Even Great Britain had Cromwell and the restored Stuarts before the “Golden Revolution”. America was an exception—which some point as due to George Washington being like Cincinaticus and giving up power after two terms.
