Of course this is fiction, delightful though it is. Santa is part Light Elf and the Light Elves have no need of money and do this for the spirit of the thing. That and the Light against the Dark as in Dark Elves that is. Their counter parts in the literal and biological senses of it. For the Dark Elves are busy too, and what they create isn’t good cheer or happiness except perhaps schadenfreude if at all. For a time they worked with Santa too giving him a companion, the darkly twisted and horned Krampus. And they are quite a bit larger than usually depicted. It twas the Medievalists who made them smaller than they were, they thank J.R.R. Tolkien for restoring their rightful place.

I used to have an uncle who worked for UPS in Massy-two-***ts, and he was not a large man. But he was no elf. He was French.
I worry for old Santa, but I’m sure he and his lovely missus will come up with something….
Merry Christmas, one and all!
