I’m reminded of the scene in Silverlock when Golias a.k.a. Widsith tells the Battle of the Alamo in Anglo-Saxon alliteration:
“Harsh that hearing for Houston the Raven:

Leaving it lacking and looted the while
Hordes were sweeping swift on his land,
Hell-bent to crush him…."
