Pish-tush (or pish-tosh, or pish-posh) is a British slang expression used since the 18th century. It was also the name of a character in Gilbert & Sullivan’s The Mikado, written in 1884, though the phrase was in use long before that. The closest equivalent in modern American slang would probably be, “Yeah, right.” [End of fun etymology fact of the day]
