Aww. Hugs for all.

Repeat: AAWWWWWW…….(when you get right down to it, we’re all ‘rescues’!)

Dogs “find” me and I keep them. They are more loving in my opinion than the ones that were bought in a pet store. I know what you mean Nancy.

This one really touches the heart.

She must be refering to when her Aunt gave her a home when she was an orphan.

Guy and Brad actually did cover that (albeit, briefly) in a sunday strip a few years ago. Unfortunately, the archives here seem to only go back to last year, so I can’t bring it up. There wasn’t much to it – just mentioned that Nancy lost her parents and Fritzi took her in (and loves her dearly).

Hugs all around. I agree with blunebottle here, we’re all “rescues”. I helped raise 4 neices and nephews- 1 had no parents who were around and the other 3 just had a mother who was only interested in taking care of herself. They are all grown up now and on their own. I also have 4 cats, all of which were strays who “adopted” me. I would not trade any of them for any amount of money. Bottom line is, we all need “rescuing” at one time or another in our lives.

Very very true! Good incentive to pray for anyone we meet. The difficult ones haven’t been rescued yet.

I think the key to this comic strip is the book on the bed, “Child’s Bible Stories.” According to the Bible we are rescued by Jesus Christ from the destruction we would suffer without him. From a faith perspective, this is very powerful. “I once was lost, but now am found, was blind but now I see.”

Guy isn’t referring to Nancy’s literal childhood background. The Bible storybook on the bed suggests he is talking about the biblical concept of salvation (think the lyrics of “Amazing Grace”).

@Newdnonhof and @ Wolf Emperor: I think you are right! I was trying to phrase a comment in my mind, when I saw that you folks had already said it. I couldn’t have said it better. Amen!

Any mention of religion or faith immediately brings out the God-haters in other comic strip blogs but not in Nancy. God bless you all and God bless the God-haters, too. Maybe some day they’ll see the light.

Did anyone else get the post (reliability unknown?) about the Judge and the Aetheist? It seems the aetheist was complaining that Christians, Jews have Passover, Easter, Christmas etc as holy days, but there were no special days for aetheists!Judge responded, but there is. It falls on April 1
