Emi Sunshine is a 9 year old sensational Americana music artist from Tennessee. Trust me, you will be hearing a lot from her. She is FANTASTIC and it is great to see her in this strip!! Check her out!!
Emi Sunshine has been on the Today show and the Grand Ole Opry as well!! Absolutely the most refreshing thing in the rural Americana genre I have ever heard!! EVER! I didn’t even know Nancy was still being drawn. A great childhood memory that I will look forward to reading again!!
Did Sluggo stock up on the politically incorrect bulbs (and actually superior to those lead-free, curlicue jobbies) or did one of his benefactors help him out with punking his gal pal?
At my local town dump, fluorescent lamps are not routinely accepted because wounds can fester badly if you are cut by a broken lamp. To prevent this a worker carefully printed out a sign using a dictionary: "No F-L-U-O-R-E-S-C-E-N-T … (and here he must have felt he was home free) … B-L-U-B-S!
In case you are wondering who the other girl in the comic strip is, her name is EmiSunshine and she is a 10 year old Americana singer. Check her out on Youtube! She’s amazing!

Gee, I wonder what city they live in. Usually, there’s some clue somewhere…just can’t call it to mind…

Sluggo must have hoarded all of the great old style bulbs.

I knew this gag would appear and I still love it!! I just don’t understand why it’s not those “new” ones. I guess this is an 80 year old strip, eh?

I love the gag! Priceless! Two thumbs (and a heap o’ laughs) to Sluggo!
(And I love the other girl’s hairstyle! It’s beautiful!)
