Modems!! Wireless!! I can't take it! I wrote my column, but the Internet's down! I can't get my article to my editor! I remember when I used to just type it and mail it! All I had to worry about was it getting lost in the mail! How I long for those days of things going bad back in the good ol days!

I sympathize, having had ‘the internets’ misplace a job application that I submitted via a computer right in the office of the Human Resources Department (!) Back in the old days, I would hand deliver local job applications and ‘overnight’ the out of town ones. Maybe Fritzi needs to turn her column over to FedEx…

Unless there’s been a zombie apocalypse, the Internet’s only be going to be down for a few minutes or hours. Take a chill pill and relax, Fritzi.

Why down’t she print it and mail it? Then the editor can digitize it and post it.

I recall being promised a “paperless office” but the only time I see it is when the printer runs out

I remember going to work one day and every printer was cranking away – printing about two lines of gibberish and going to the next page.Appears a paper wasting virus had gotten into the systems!

Well at lest this way you’ve got a few days of internet down to equal the time it took to arrive by mail.

Sign on the office printer:B&W 5c per page.Color 12c per pageUSE SPARINGLY!.Then, one day, I walked by the printer and it was cranking out page after page, and the stack was so tall it was about to slide over on the floor. Picked it up and sat it on the desk.Repeated about three times before the printing was done!Wondered what was so important to require that much paper! Turned one over, and there in full color -how to implement the 5S program!(5S and the ISOs based on theory that someone in another country knows better how to do your job than you do!)

Dilbert had it figured out:You can turn out scrap, but if you are consistent and document it well, you’ll be meeting ISO standards!

If I had to send a file and the internet went down, I would use my phone as a WiFi hotspot and connect my computer to it, and send the file that way. Today’s tech offers more workarounds than old tech.

What a dumb storyline. People complained about Jaimes and tech gags
