Benjamin Franklin was, for his time, a “cool dude.” He was earthy in his private life and bawdy in his writings. To a certain extent that was accepted during those times. And he did spend an amount of time in France as a popular sage and wit. Read:.https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Advice_to_a_Friend_on_Choosing_a_Mistress. “Mistress” in this case means “wife.” But Franklin was practical in his advice, and in his view older women as marriage partners were not to be disdained:.“The Face first grows lank and wrinkled; then the Neck; then the Breast and Arms; the lower Parts continuing to the last as plump as ever: So that covering all above with a Basket, and regarding only what is below the Girdle, it is impossible of two Women to know an old from a young one. And as in the dark all Cats are grey, the Pleasure of corporal Enjoyment with an old Woman is at least equal, and frequently superior, every Knack being by Practice capable of Improvement.”
I’m impressed that James Madison got a mention. He doesn’t spring to mind as a Founding Father for most people. Jefferson, Franklin, Washington, maybe Adams – after that people have trouble.

If they can make a hip-hop play out of one of the Founding Fathers, what’s the big deal about having another one wear skinny jeans?

Why, Sluggo? Because according to Ripley’s BIoN, Madison was the first POTUS to wear long trousers!

Franklin was one of a kind. You can get his autobiography at Gutenberg.org. Best site for free Kindle or Nook books, if you don’t mind oldies.
