I know Sid is usually our point man for Nancy references in the mundane world, but here’s one that- near as I can tell anyway- I may have the distinction of being the first to notice on the whole internet, which I don’t mind telling you I’m a little cocky about. From the pages of Ryan North’s most excellent Unbeatable Squirrel Girl #41, art by Naomi Franquiz, all characters and content copyright Marvel Entertainment, LLC, et cetera. I read the comic in digital format (legally! comixology.com people, it’s great) and had to take a picture with my phone of my computer screen to get around the anti-screen capture protection, thus the pixelation. I cropped the image to just the one relevant panel to minimize infringement on my part.
In non-Squirrel Girl Nancy news, the Daily Cartoonist tells us that our friends at the Brattleboro Reformer will be picking up Nancy (also Daddy Daze and Macanudo, from over in the Other Place), at the expense of “Blondie,” “Doonesbury” (which has been in repeats), “Ernest and Frank” and “Flying McCoys.”
