The difference between Esther and Nancy is that Nancy would figure out a way she could still blame failure on something else.

More proof that we are now in the ‘Me’ generation. You wouldn’t find such vanity in Bushmiller.

In my daughter’s first soccer team, when she was five, this one friend of hers from a couple of blocks away was the one who won all the games for his team. I was lucky enough to be there at the last game of the season, when he wasn’t there and my daughter simply stepped in and scored all the goals.

She played soccer a few seasons, then was recruited for field hockey in middle school, where she preferred to play defense. I like that she could have been a hot dog and chose to be a team player instead.

Lose-lose situation. If Esther wins, then the other players will call her a ball hog who wanted all the glory. If she loses, she gets all the blame.

    Someone give her a bunny.
