As my mother always said, “Eat it and shut up.” Let them go without for a day and they’ll learn the value of a meal. I always told the kids that they can tell me that they don’t like it but they have to taste it first. It’s amazing what they’ll try if you don’t force them.
I must admit that I was far from a picky eater. Probably the only 2 things I REFUSED were Brussels Sprouts and Cauliflower. But…
My mom was Armenian (akin to Turk and Greek) and we had Stuffed Grape Leaves regularly. Think Cabbage Rolls, but tangy-er. Like, dill pickle or lemon tangy. I would eat them, but it wasn’t good. Finally, I figured out I could unwrap the leaf, and eat the filling. My brother, who WAS the picky eater, LOVED them, and he would eat my leaves.
