A friend of mine who was a programmer looked at some of my hobby stuff and suggested that I do programming. He said, “It’s a racket.” He meant that many otherwise intelligent people didn’t have the knack for understanding how computers think and how software behaves. The implication was that those with the knack could clean up. He was right.
