My spouse and I… back when we used to go out to eat… always hunted for not just good food, but a place where we could talk to each other without yelling. Whenever I have mentioned this to owners, I am usually told that they are aiming at a younger, hipper crowd that’s energized by the echoing loudness… and they buy more drinks when they’re energized.

Now it’s listening to No Justice chants as they march around the salad bar. Drowns out that annoying music.

The best steak sandwich in town was at the strip joint. Watching the college kids near the stage was better entertainment than the peeler.
