The language of clothing, much like colors, is something spoken almost entirely by women. I recognize when Spouse’s clothes are saying “Time to get out and work in the yard”, “Time to leave” and “(yawn) Bedtime.” For anything else, it’s best if she uses spoken language.
This reminds me of the little black mini dress that princess Diana wore when she and Charles were divorced. That was a total case of “look what you’re missing”.
