Dog: I don't know what we're supposed to do now. None of ever actually caught one before....
There was a Far Side with a similar gag, with a car-chasing dog dreaming that he caught one, flipped on its roof with the dog perched on the undercarriage and howling in triumph. According to Gary Larson’s account in “The Prehistory of the Far Side”, he got some irate letters from some who thought the way the dog was posed made it look as if he was having intimate relations with the car…as if that were every car-chasing dog’s dream come true?
