Thank you for that, Ghostpony, but I would be remiss if I didn’t correct you on that statement. I should point out that cartooning is first and foremost writing. I believe, as you obviously do, that the quality of the art is very important, but it is still the writing… the concepts… that is most important. You will find many of the most successful comics are done by cartoonists whose graphic abilities are, shall we say, limited.
There is an old saying in this business… Good writing will save bad art, but good art will never save bad writing. But I’ll never back down in what goes into my art.
