Danae: I'm off to do some scientific research, Daddy... I'll be back after sunset. Joe Pyle: Umm... Research on what? Danae: The solar rotation theory... I figure it'll take years of heavily funded research to see if the sun really does set in the east. Joe: You mean the west. Danae: Huh? Joe: The sun sets in the west. Danae: Whoa... You know what that means? Joe: You need to pay more attention in school? Danae: Don't be silly... It means I'm going to need a lot more funding.

Hunh. Time to update my reading. You can learn new things anywhere, from anything. I still recall my Miss Pickerel books teaching me the planets when a kid: “My Very Educated Mother Just Served Us Nine Pumpkins.”
This is why Pluto should be a planet: I don’t want to learn a new mnemonic.
And I amazed my neighbor, doing her accounting studying while home from college: she had jotted “TANSTAAFL” in the margin of her text, and I knew what it meant: RAH and “The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress”, thanks!
