Joe: People used to enjoy being alone in their thoughts... now it seems like that's everyone's biggest fear! Captain Eddie: Maybe we should staht an anti-social netwahk. Joe: Other than being an oxymoron, that's brilliant, Eddie. Flo: Every once in a while, one of the voices in his head pays off. Captain Eddie: Urp... Thanks.

I thought, that we were already part of an anti-social network. This page!

I’m still trying to get myself completely off of FB. My daughter begged me to join, and now I can’t seem to totally erase myself from it
arrrrgh!

And we all avoid the fact that these comments are really sometimes a form of social networking AND anti-socilal networking.
Wiley, you us ROYALTIES!!!!
xanthian almost 14 years ago
Yeah @Nelly55.
I’m a person of long past a certain age, got lured into Facebook so my heart’s mate could see pictures of her niece’s children online.
Now I feel like my fists are up to my elbows in a tar-baby, and everything else in my life has slowed to a crawl while Facebook devours my time.
I think of it as just another addictive drug.
xanthian, anti-social network fan.

I think Cap’n Eddie surprised himself with that statement.

Dids any other “eagle eyes” notice that Paulie quietly moved from Cap’n Eddie’s right shoulder in panels 1-3 to his left shoulder in panel 4?
Aha, Wiley, some of us were watching! (Yeah, I know Paulie moved so she wouldn’t upstage Cap’n Eddie in panel 4 – gotta be aware of the camera angles)
Great job, as always, Wiley!

and iĺl bet yáll are reading this on a computer, not a social-networking enabled electronic device. lack of social-interaction: important events in life are keeping track of a cartoon catś locus

I wonder though - dare I accuse the apparent message of today’s strip with being a little curmudgeony? I don’t personally use facebook, twitter, fantasy leagues, and I don’t even text except in rare occasions for practical purposes (I just don’t have the time for all that), but moderate use of these things doesn’t seem to be so bad. People do use facebook to find and reconnect with old friends, texting can be a very practical alternative to calling people, and there may be some value to twitter which I can’t immediately see. Even that fantasy football thing (which personally I find a bit bizarre) seems to give my coworkers something to talk about in the hallway - they seem to like it, and they’re pretty smart, so it can’t be all bad. (Of course, I don’t even follow real sports, so what do I know?)
Barbaratoo almost 14 years ago
Whitecarabao - yeah! I DID see that Paulie had switched directions. Think Wiley was seeing if we paid attention? (I can’t believe that I’m only getting to read the comics at this hour!)

@ steverino: You may as well go ahead with your meeting. The NPS meeting has been postponed until…whenever…

Whitecarabao I to caught Paulie’s sneak move from on shoulder to the other. As for all the social networking hell I don’t even have a cell phone, fine me at home on the land line or not at all.

Could someone tell me what happened with the Ekert?
Rolf Rykken Premium Member almost 14 years ago
Ekert is behind all the social networking.
vldazzle almost 14 years ago
I keep up with a large group of my SCA people -mostly crafters like myself on FB, and also a small group of family who are resistant to email, but otherwise I resist the attempts at friending. I prefer to keep just those who will actually be interested in my current projects and be posting/doing similar interesting projects- otherwise it has no point.
