Acrobat 1: Well, it seems an agreement has finally been reached on a comprehensive health and retirement package. Acrobat 2: Hey, that's great! So how does it look? Acrobat 1: Oh, let's talk about it later.
All of you that believe that the Democratic health care bill is a good thing are in such denial. Show me the good that has come from it. I still cannot afford health care insurance(or healthcare) for myself and my spouse. We are approaching retirement age and are considered poor risks. Is the cost going to come down in 2014? I doubt it, but we will be taxed for not having insurance.
A lot of companies have already dropped health care benefits for their workers. Case in point is my brother-in-law who is 20 years younger than me and fortunately healthy. His wife is not so fortunate in her health and is totally fearful that her teaching assistant job will be eliminated, followed by her insurance.
Now, Republicans, what kind of alternative have you offered?
It has come to the point in this country that “We the People” is just a tired old phrase. We the people should rise up and let our voices be heard. If yours is a racist voice, stifle it until you can learn to love others. If you hate those who disagree with you, learn where the common ground is. As long as we can be swayed by the fast talking extremeists, of either party, we will be a house divided. Come on people, find the common ground. If we are to have a large government, it must truly do its job and help our country instead of dividing it through partisan politics.
Bring the jobs home, bring the troops home and work out new treaties with everyone. Stop sending our tax money overseas until we actually have a surplus. Then make sure whatever help we give will actually benefit us.
Churches, you are the ones who should be responsible for missionary type welfare. However, this would be dependant upon our jobs coming home so we could all pay our share of taxes and tithes.
My thoughts on this are not complete, so forgive me. Any help or positive input will be welcomed. If all you can do is hate, keep it to yourself.
