Danae: Daddy...which one is smarter, people or horses? Ned: Oh, that's easy. Horses. Danae: What?! Horses can't build houses or go to the moon...all they do is eat and poop! Ned: Yeah, but which one shovels the poop? Danae: He says it's a toss-up. Lucy: Good enough for me, shovel-girl.
There is a similar entry in the Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy concerning man and dolphins:“For instance, on the planet Earth, man had always assumed that he was more intelligent than dolphins because he had achieved so much – the wheel, New York, wars and so on – whilst all the dolphins had ever done was muck about in the water having a good time. But conversely, the dolphins had always believed that they were far more intelligent than man – for precisely the same reasons.”
