See. Lawyers can be very helpful. Everyone calls on them when they are in trouble. Remember that sharks help clean the oceans. Ergo a complimentary nickname. How kind of Wiley to point this out.

So, is ‘legal revision’ a nice new way of describing what spin doctors do?

You don’t often see a lawyer suspended by his own loophole.

2oldNo that’s how business works—-and when he’s done enough damage to the company he’ll get a big, golden parachute.

(I do wish that big, golden parachutes were literal rather than figurative, I mean we can always retrieve the gold from the crater afterwards!)

It must be uncomfortable, having to read a report, while the blood is rushing to your head, and your dorsal fin is banging into the wall.

Now put B.O. in that C.E.O.s chair and you’d have some truth to this strip. Private companies are always held responsible. Government is never to blame as long as they were “well intentioned”

The guy from Legal got “roped” into the revision by the CEO. People forget it is usually in their job description to do what the CEO wants—make the company look good legally and help them walk the legal tightrope whether the attorney agrees with the company position or not. It is like a defense attorney. Not all of your clients are innocent, but all have a constitutional right to the best defense the lawyer can provide. This aggressive defense is necessary even if the lawyer believes his client is guilty.

It is easier to vote a U.S. president out of office than get rid of a corporate one.

I thought they were called “compensation consultants,” who can always explain why the CEO must be given a multimillion dollar raise. To retain irreplaceable talent. ;-)

I practiced litigation in federal courts for nearly 20 years and noted that so many people believed that 1) lawyers in general were cheats and liars, and 2) that applied to every lawyer except theirs.

So I guess we can presume you will be voting Democrat next election?Remember: “Just because you’re paranoid doesn’t mean people aren’t out to get you”.Don’t let the truth ever override a good conspiracy theory.“Paint them all with the same brush and see where it sticks”.I’m hard pressed to find an example of a generalization the is broader than your example.
