Liverlips… “throwback Thursday” is more ubiquitous than you’d think. The cartoonists didn’t have to coordinate for both to have heard of it…
I “get” that the bat consumed the ball, but the second picture in the sequence makes it look like the bat was no where near the ball at any time. (I guess the flight of the ball depicted above the sequence 2 picture of the batter is supposed to actually be associated with sequence 1)
