I’m a TA for Plant Biology and we sit in the back of the room and can see EVERYTHING the students are doing? What? You don’t understand root structure, maybe it’s because you were playing Angry Birds during that lecture. Sorry, I don’t have time to help you. Students who were actually paying attention need my help.
I am taking classes towards a masters, and in one of my classes there were people on Facebook, texting, and playing all types of online games. Then wonder why they got a D on the test,,,,
This is why at my college they don’t allow us students to take notes on our laptops, no cell phones, laptops, or any electronic devices except for electronic dictionaries for the International students. And to enforce that, we have seating RAs in each section of seats, so people can easily be written up and receive “D-points” for it.
I was the only masters candidate in a class of PhD wannabees. The subject of technology technology came up and I mentioned I was using a wind-up watch. The class, mercifully small, swarmed around me to see this wonder.
In my college unfortunately there are a lot of students on Facebook, texting, etc during class. It goes by professor, some are strict, some aren’t. Some classes are too large to reinforce common courtesy.
