I hate having ang bugs come indoors. The crawing ones or flies I just kill. Any bees or wasps I catch and release (good pollinators in the garden). A wasp just yesterday was just on the inside of a sliding door, so easy to encourage it to leave.
Flies get swatted, German roaches are controlled by baits, Flying roaches (those 3" monsters) get grabbed and flushed. Geckos and crickets get carefully captured and gently released outside.

I don’t blame Ruthie for being scared—I’d run out screaming too!

Do you have the same sentiment for cockroaches?

I never kill spiders that I may find in my home – they eat insects that are house pests

I don’t know why anyone would be afraid of spiders. They’re beneficial and mostly harmless…

It’s not the spiders I mind. It’s walking into the web I didn’t see.
