Hey, at least he passed. I had all kinds of trouble with Social Studies tests in the 5th grade, No matter how much my parents drilled and grilled me I still failed most of the tests. I passed the one we had right after Thanksgiving weekend because we spent that whole long weekend going over and over and over everything and I only just barely passed. The only other one was when we had a substitute teacher the day before and she actually went over the test ahead of time.

Math isn’t memorization, you can’t “drill” it in. You need to reason through it so that it can be applied to a problem you’ve never seen before.
