Here in the UK, there was a comic called Wham from 1964 to 1968. It was before my time but I read some of the annuals as a boy. I also knew some of the characters who originally appeared in Wham from their appearances in later comics such as Whizzer and Chips and Shiver and Shake. The most successful character from Wham was Frankie Stein who would go on to appear in Shiver and Shake, then continue in Whoopee! and would also appear in Monster Fun (1975-6) as Honorary Editor of the comic and whose one line strip in Monster Fun would continue in Buster and Monster Fun.

My favorite character returns. Does she play 4 hands at a time?
