i dream of a world where a chicken can cross the road without having her motives questioned.

Late one night I was riding with my girlfriend, on a delivery to the southern end of the state. I had spotted a couple of armadillos, of which she had only gotten a glimpse, and which she had never seen or heard of before. We were cruising along at about 80mph, while I was trying to describe them to her without much success. Suddenly a dead armadillo appeared in the center of our lane, crossways, it’s back to us. “There’s one.” Taking evasive action at that speed would have been a bad idea, so she aimed to straddle it. We cleared the armadillo, but not the ’possum’s head that popped up, eyes glowing, from behind it at the last second to see what was happening. I wonder if it had time for that “uh-oh” moment?

IMHO KFC hasn’t done chicken right since they stopped using broasters and got rid of trans fats…
